WILKIE'S SYNDROME: A BRIEF UNDERSTANDING THROUGH ILLUSTRATIONS
Abstract
Superior mesenteric artery syndrome or also known as Wilkie's syndrome is a pathology given by the abnormal course of superior mesenteric artery caused by reduction in the aorto-mesenteric angle mainly by loss of perivascular and retroperitoneal fat, mainly causing compression of the third portion of the duodenum , becoming one of the causes of intestinal obstruction.
