ANORECTAL ULCERS DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS FOR GENERAL SURGEONS

Abstract

Introducción. La patología perianal es frecuente entre la población de hombres que tienen sexo con hombres (HSH). A menudo se manifiesta en forma de úlceras anorrectales, cuyo diagnóstico diferencial es amplio y debe ser conocido para el cirujano general.

Materiales y métodos. A partir de un caso, se ha realizado una revisión de la literatura. Se ha descrito la epidemiología y la etiología de los procesos ulcerativos en la región perianal en este grupo poblacional.

Resultados. El abanico de enfermedades que producen úlceras anorrectales es amplio. La primera causa es infecciosa. Se debe descartar también la neoplasia anal, la enfermedad inflamatoria intestinal, y las neoplasias hematológicas, entre otros.

Conclusión. Es preciso saber manejar las úlceras perianales y anorrectales. Un correcto diagnóstico diferencial permitirá administrar el tratamiento más oportuno a este grupo de enfermos.
