NUEVAS LECTURAS PARA UN CONOCIDO AZULEJO MEDIEVAL. [New readings of a well-known medieval tile]

Abstract

The paper analyzes an old medieval tile, studied previously, by other authors.
We propose a new interpretation of the emblem it displays, connecting it to the ideals of courtly love, distinctive of the XVth century. These appear represented on many other samples and media of the time, used as a parallel of our tile, which were captured and inspired by the contemporary literature, outstanding in this, the Valencian novel, Tirant lo Blanc
