Abstract

ABSTRACT

Peritoneal carcinomatosis of digestive origin is a current topic due to the advances on its treatment during the latest years. The appearance of the PIPAC (Pressurized Intra-Peritoneal Aerosol Chemotherapy) protocols opens a new path to palliative treatment of these patients allowing, with minimum morbidity, a symptomatic relief in the final stages of the disease. The good coordination of the oncological teams is particularly important for the correct planning of these patients, and the inclusion in the PIPAC protocol from the beginning of the treatment with palliative intention. We present our experience gained after the implementation of this protocol, the considerations on the technique and the difficulties we have noticed during its implementation.
