Abstract

Gabriel Femenia i Maura can be considered one of the most important landscape painters in Spain in the first half of the 18th century. His travels and stay in Italy, where he trained and began his work as a painter, were decisive in the development of his career. This article therefore analyses the places where he lived, the artists with whom he studied and his participation in the decoration of the minor salon of the Ducal Palace in Genoa during the years he spent in Italy.
