This article deals with the patronage of Mary of Castile, Queen of Aragon, towards different monastic environments. In particular, with regard to the supply of altarpieces and choir stalls. We will focus on the reforms and decoration of the Monastery of the Vall d'Hebron and the Carthusian Monastery of Montalegre (both in Barcelona). At the same time, documentation from the Royal Chancellery has revealed the relationship between the monarch and the sculptor Macià Bonafé, one of the best craftsmen in the Crown of Aragon in terms of creating choir stalls and wooden altarpieces.
