Abstract

With the liberation of the Nazi camps in the spring of 1945, the 3,800 Republican survivors, of the more than 9,000 who were deported, became aware of their true status as stateless and repatriation to France was unique, contradictory and diverse. , after days of uncertainty about its immediate future. The survival of the Franco dictatorship condemned them to continue in a second long exile.
