This article aims to analyze the ephemeral coalition Unió Autonomista, the main nationalist centrist party that ran in the 1977 elections within the context of the island of Mallorca. On the one hand, the objective is to know the ideology of this formation, as well as its leadership by a prominent politician such as Josep Melià, its evolution and the reasons for its rapid disappearance. On the other hand, it is intended to draw some conclusions about a political spectrum such as the Majorcan nationalist centrism during the Transition period, the founding moment of the current Spanish and Balearic political regime.
