Abstract

Abstract

 The commercials contacts between the Crown of Aragon and the North-African sultanates during the first half of the XIIIth century was marked by James I conquests in the peninsula Iberica and the fragmentation of the almohade sultanate at the same time as the Tunis and Tlemcen sultanates arose. This first commerce before the 1250's decade  was private without the support of James I and befote the creation of the Catalan fondacos of Tunis and Bugia. The documentation consulted has information about the destination of the mercantil commands, the products, prices, witnesses, the managing partners, and the capitalist partners.
